Hello everyone!

I took pictures of the final cookware/kitchenware/glassware set that my mom and I decided on, which arrived the day we moved in. I had no idea but she had packed so much more in these boxes and I lovee the little gadgets that she sent me! 😀 We ended up not getting Fissler nor Perma-Life because I grew up seeing them at my home and at other Korean homes and it ultimately didn’t appeal as much to me as other brands.

Our final choices that my mom bought for us as my wedding gift:

– Le Creuset cookware set and All-Clad cookware set.
Villeroy & Boch Dishware set in fours
Wedgewood Pashmina china plate set for display
John and Joseph set
Vera Wang wine & champagne glasses

Cute gadgets my mom put in between boxes

Villeroy & Boch Dishware set in fours

Spoon and Chopsticks made in Silver

Sauce set from Korea’s Shinsaegae mall

My favorite- John & Joseph set

Love the choices! I’ve already used most of them and good cookwares really make a difference. I’ve been given much advice from few married friends/family to only buy top of the line kitchenware, and ONLY WHAT YOU’LL NEED. They said they bought so many unnecessary cookware that they thought they will use but never ended up using, such as bread makers and avocado mashers(?) lol. So we ended up buying only the type of pots/pans and dishes that I know we’ll need and it’s been great so far. Love my stylish Villeroy & Boch dishes.. makes my dinners look so much better than they actually are! hehe

Kitchenware Shopping for Newlyweds @ Bloomingdales

This past weekend, My mom and I went randomly shopping at Bloomingdales. She insisted that (rule #1:) newlyweds need good kitchenware that will last us a lifetime, and that (rule #2:) it’s a Korean tradition for moms to buy kitchenware for their soon-to-be-married daughter.  Plus, she added, there is a major sale going on this weekend on name brands and it would end this Sunday.

Little did I know previous to my visit today how much these little pans and plates really cost, or what “bone china” or “Le Creuset” is. I’ve learned a lot this weekend. I had no interest in dishes and I ended up getting four sets from Villeroy & Boch (four sets rule #3: mom says married couples should always have sets of four for guests) of bowls, plates, cups, and glasses in different sizes, or more. She .It’s made in Germany in both bone china and porcelain. I’m not sure if that’s a whole lot better, but supposedly it’s higher quality and sturdier.
